Are you wanting to get the best exercise products out there, but also don’t want to spend your entire paycheck (or more) getting them? Perfect. You have come to the right spot!
I have searched high and low to find the best exercise products that you really should own…and, these are products that won’t break your bank.
I am not sure if you are anything like me, but the global pandemic completely threw me off my exercise game. Pre-pandemic, I once was a fitness class “regular”. And, now let’s be honest, there is nothing regular about my fitness routine.
Because let’s face it, most of us have NOT found our way back to our yoga classes, or pilates classes or even to the local gym.
And given that at-home exercise has become a new normal, I have challenged myself to find the best exercise products out there…all for under $50.
Here you are going to learn about the best weight sets, best exercise mat, best exercise bands, and more. And, I think you’re gonna like what I’ve found!
This post is all about the Exercise Products.
Best Exercise Equipment for Those on a Budget
1. Best Weight Sets
One of the first things to do when looking for exercise products is to research and find a good weight set.
There are many different options that you can choose from when it comes to weight sets. But, the two categories of weight sets that I definitely recommend are dumbbells and wrist weights.
Best Dumbells
Dumbbells (light)
These exact Nice C Adjustable Dumbbells are definitely the dumbbells that I would recommend. Not only do they look cute and come in different color options (important…but not important, ha!), but they are also adjustable, which is a HUGE plus. That means you can vary the weight from 2.5 pounds to 4.5 pounds for each dumbbell.
Adjustable dumbbells are the way to go because they are budget-friendly, space-saving, and a convenient way to progress in your workout without having to invest in new exercise products.
While the lighter weight in these dumbbells is perfect for me, I understand that it doesn’t work for everyone.
Dumbbells (heavy)
if you wanted a heavier set of adjustable weights, I would recommend these Yes4All Adjustable Cast Iron Dumbbell Sets, which is more of your traditional weight set option.
This weight set definitely provides the next level weight options. Included in the 40-pound set are four 2.5 pound weights and four 5 pound weights. When you include the handles and collars on these weights, you get approximately 20 pounds for each dumbbell.
Although I am no where near being able to use this set of weights at the moment, these will definitely be my go-to option for when I want to level up my dumbbell game.
Best Wrist Weights
Wrist weights are great option to get your arms (and even legs) super toned. Personally, I would definitely recommend these Wrist and Ankle weights from Euadalia as a key investment in your exercise products stash.
Like dumbbells, wrist weights can easily one-up your workouts with an added challenge. I personally love how you don’t have to grip these weights and can simply slide them onto your wrists or ankles for an added workout.
These are on the lighter side at 1.2 pounds each. And they are really meant to give your workouts (or even daily routines) a bit of a boost. While they definitely bump up the intensity your workouts, you can also put them on while doing chores or other errands.
I love these weights for many reason. They are comfortable, mold and mildew proof, washable, and cute (yes, they also come in a variety of color options, similar to the Nice C Adjustable Dumbbells).
2. Best Exercise Mat
Second on our Worth It Exercise Product list, is an exercise mat.
The price range of these mats can vary quite a bit, but there are plenty of budget options. This yoga mat one here is from Amazon Basics. It is a great option for those of you who don’t want to break the bank with an exercise mat.
One nice thing about this exercise mat is that it is 1/2″ thick and is perfect for providing extra support, shock absorption and comfort for your at-home workouts.
Since I have hardwood floors throughout my home, having an extra thick exercise mat really is essential for providing comfort. I definitely notice that I am WAY less sore the next day due to the added cushioning.
However, being that this mat is on the thicker side, I really would only recommend this for at-home use. For me, this mat is much too thick to travel with and take outside of your home.
3. Best Exercise Bands
Exercise bands are next on my Exercise Product for Under $50. There are a couple of routes that you could go with exercise bands, but I two that I would recommend are loop exercise bands and exercise bands with handles.
Loop Exercise Bands
These exercise bands are my go to option for a few reasons. First of all, they are made of a thicker material versus straight up latex or rubber. Unlike many of their latex competitors, these bands definitely feel more durable, And, they don’t pinch or roll up as much as the latex versions.
And for an added bonus, they don’t get as covered in lint, hair, etc., which is something that ALWAYS annoys me with the latex bands.
Exercise Bands with Handles
Exercise bands with handles is another great exercise product option, and why I recommend these that you can easily find on Amazon.
The fitness bands with handles are nice because they mimic a lot of machines or free weights found in gyms, but for a fraction of the price. Plus, they are super storable and convenient to use at home.
These bands provide weight resistance anywhere from 10 to 50 pounds and even come with a booklet of exercise recommendations. Definitely a great value!
4. Best Exercise Sliders
Exercise sliders are next on the list of Worth It Exercise products and for good reason. Sliders help promote strength, endurance and stability and completely get your core in tip-top shape.
But don’t let their relatively easy design fool you. These exercise products are not simple to use and definitely kick my but (or core) when I use them.
The two types of exercise sliders that I would recommend are the Ab Wheel and Glider Discs.
The Ab Wheel
Also on the Worth It Exercise Product list, the Ab Wheel is a great exercise product that targets the entire upper body.
The nice thing about this ab roller in particular, is that it comes with resistance bands that will assist beginners who might not be strong enough to use the ab roller by itself.
The resistance bands provides an almost elastic effect to help you get back into your resting position. This is key for those of us who need build more core strength before using this ab wheel.
Glider Discs
Much like its ab roller counterpart, exercise glider discs have many key benefits, such as building muscle, burning fat and building strength.
The glider discs that I have are probably one of the most reviewed gliders on Amazon, and for good reason. These sliders work great on both hardwood floors, rugs, and I’d image carpets too! They are also very durable. Plus, they cost less than $10 (or at least they were at the time that this post was written.).
Proper Form of Exercise Slider Workouts
Word of caution. Please, please, please, if you are new to these types of workouts and have never worked with an exercise slider before, please make sure that you do your research on proper form. If done incorrectly, you can get some pretty gnarly lower back injuries from slider these exercise products.
5. Best Jump Rope
Last, and for sure not the least are jump ropes. Jump ropes are #5 in the Worth It Exercise Products list.
These jump ropes are a really good bang for your buck. They are very durable, are adjustable in length (so both kids and adults can use them), and have high quality ball bearings that allow you to jump FAST! Plus, all of this at a very good price.
There are so many benefits to jump rope exercises. Jumping rope provides a full body workout (think arms, hips, abs, etc.) It is also is known to build muscle, increase bone density (goodbye osteoporosis), and of course improve your hearth and cardiovascular health.
Plus, out of all of the exercise products listed here, jump ropes are probably the most fun.
So there you have it. Here are the Worth It Exercise Products that are under $50. You should now know a lot more about which of these fitness products is best for you.
I recommend starting out slowly and picking maybe 1-2 of these exercise products that you think you’ll actually use. And if you do decide to go big and get all of them, then no worries. At $50 or less, these for sure will NOT break the bank.
